October (A Thousand Words)

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Sunset on Easy Street, Aiken, South Carolina

The sun is setting on Easy Street in Aiken, South Carolina. I love living in a city where Easy Street leads you to Whiskey road.

October has always been my favorite month. When I was in elementary school, I lived in Connecticut where the leaves turn brilliant yellows, oranges and reds. It is a special treat, one last hurrah before it gets cold and gloomy for a good portion of the winter. Here in Aiken, October is the month where we can finally start breathing again, the humidity drops and the nights are downright chilly. So far, our October has felt more like August. Thankfully this weekend seems to be a turning point. We will be having highs in the 70’s for most of the week. I have to say I am ready.

I am so excited to be part of a blogging collaborative, A Thousand Words. Once a month I will be posting an image inspired by a quote and give you a link to follow the circle and see how others were inspired. Play along and follow the circle to see Stephanie Taylor Saladino’s blog–what a cutie!!

Here is the link.
